my vinturi has a crack in it
During manufacturing, material folds around rods and wraps back resulting in two slight "fold lines". these lines extend up from each air hole and are normal.

sometimes, wine comes out the air holes
This can happen by starting to pour fast and right in the center of the bowl. wine can come out because the venturi action is not established. to prevent it, start pouring off-center until there is some wine in the bowl.
